Poker Rules rewritten by Benny Spindler – Greatest Poker Hands

James Hartigan: Well fans of wild and aggressive poker are going to love this hand. It’s from European Poker Tour London in 2010. In one corner big hitting Brit, Paul Foltyn but he’s facing the counter punches of the German raising machine, Benny Spindler.

James: Pocket 4s from Mathius Bergstrom and he’s raising, makes it 7,000 to play.

So here’s Benny with king-jack off.

Joe: Contrary to what Benny might think, this isn’t a mandatory three bet or even a mandatory call to an early position raiser.

James: Did you really think he’d fold? Benny Spindler 3 bets.

Joe: Story checks out.

James: Now 20,000 to play and hello, Paul Foltyn is going to 4 bet with ace-6 off.

Joe: Okay so I know I would be an advocate of re-raising Benny Spindler if you have any sort of hand, but A) Benny is not the only player in the hand, B) cold 4 betting with ace-6 is not a winning play overall and C) no, just no. James: So action back on Benny with Bergstrom giving up a pair of 4s. Joe: Why Foltyn doesn’t look very comfortable does he? Oh wait, that could be just because he’s British.

James: Now-now. Those are not calling chips.. Benny Spindler is going to 5 bet to 90,000! Joe: I guess either king-jack is too weak to call with and Benny wants to turn it into a bluff or we’re just seeing a good old fashion stack swinging context. James: Foltyn hasn’t auto-mucked. Joe: He does have the best hand, gotta wonder if he knows it though.

James: Oh my word it’s a 6 bet! Joe: There is some serious button clicking going on here. I am not even going to pretend like I know what these guys should or are going to do anymore, I’m out. James: Who will blink first? Not Benny Spindler! It’s a 7 bet jam!

Joe: Foltyn has now invested half his chips in this hand, gotta wonder if he’s regretting it now. James: Oh my word, this is the sickest hand ever! Benny Spindler shows the king-jack at the end, as he rakes in that pot. Joe: James, Foltyn cold 4 bet, then 6 bet, then folded, it’s absurd. Ten years ago the 3 bet was aces, now the 7th bet is 10-jack off, I need a cocktail. James: Is that the sickest hand ever?

Betting and Drawing in Badugi

Drawing is fairly straight forward most of the time. Most often you draw the number of cards needed for a chance to make a Badugi. Poor 3-card hand are sometimes better off broken though if one card is high (depending on the competition in the hand). Even poor badugis should sometimes be broken if competition is fierce. If you have made a Badugi you should, again, generally bet it agressively (as long as you have reason to believe that you are ahead). This is especially true if your Badugi is rather bad and everyone else is drawing. You have nothing to gain from sneaking around with such a hand only to be outdrawn.

If you have a poor Badugi, like queen high (in Badugi terms “pat queen”) and one or more people in the pot are standing pat, you could be faced with a rather nasty decision whether to fold or not. If your hand can be improved greatly from a successful draw.

The right option would often be to call a bet and discard the queen in the next draw for a shot at a great hand. This is especielly true if there are many people in the pot and the pot is not raised aggressively. You are then given fair odds of chasing a lower spade.

Fair 3-card hands should be bet agressively in position if no one has bet the pot, especially short-handed or facing a tight field. This leaves a tough decision for your opponents having mediocre hands, and they may fold their hands. If you get check-raised, you should consider your pot-odds (see basic odds) of making a great hand on the next street. If you get just called though by one or two players who again draw cards on the following street, you could consider bluffing by standing pat (in Badugi terms “snowing”) and bet again (unless someone has bet in front of you). This will have your hand look really strong, and as long as they are drawing and you have a decent 3-card hand, you may still even be ahead if called. The showdown value of such hands should not be underestimated. (More on snowing further down).

There are lots of information to be gotten from how your opponents are drawing. Visit entropay casinos sa to leran more. Obviously if they draw 2 or more cards their hand should stay weak, if they drew 1 card unless they got very funky they should have had a 3 card hand and probably (about 3 out of 4) will have it also after the draw.

What makes a good Badugi hand

The rules of Badugi are very straight forward. Every player is dealt four cards face down and the goal is to get all 4 cards in different suits, and as low as possible. Aces are low.

Having all cards in different suits is called a “Badugi”, and that is crucial in making a good hand.

If you end up with a hand that has multiple cards of one suit then the highest card of that suit is not counted in your final hand. And a 4 card hand always beats a 3 card hand and so on.

The same goes for cards of the same rank. If you have a pair that means one of the paired cards doesn’t count and you have a 3 card hand. If you have trips then you have a 2 card hand and so on. The absolutely worst hands in Badugi are quads or when all cards are of the same suit, which means only one card is counted to make the final hand.

Sometimes you may find yourself holding both pairs and suited cards. Your final hand is always consisting of keeping the lowest cards among the maximum amount of cards of different ranks and suites.

The Game

The game starts with the person to the left of the button being delt one card and then the dealing goes on in clockwise direction until every player has 4 cards. Just like in holdem and many other forms of poker, the one to the left of the button posts a small blind and the one to the left of him posts a big blind. The player first to act in the game is the one to the left of the big blind who then can opt to fold, call or raise just like in any other form of poker. Bets and raises in Badugi are most commonly restricted to limit, pot limit or half-pot limit sizes.

If two or more players have identical ranks of their cards, the pot is split between them, just like in holdem. The same holdem rules applies to side pots, when a player is all in.

In full ring games where lots of cards have been drawn it can happen that there are no cards left in the deck. If that occurs, all discarded cards (from players who have folded and cards discarded when drawing) are reshuffled and reused when dealing.

How to Play Texas Holdem Poker for Beginners : Texas Hold’em Poker Hands

Hi my name Ernie Crespo with Expert Village and today I’m going to teach you the fundamentals of Texas holdem. In this section I’m going to teach you about the hierarchy in poker games. The lowest hand possible is a non pair.

I’ll show you an example of a seven deuce. Your next hand is a pair. It can be shown as an example of pocket threes.

It can also be pocket deuces, pocket fives and your highest would be your pocket aces. The next hand is two pairs. Two individual pairs that beat a regular single pair. The next hand that beats two pair is a hand called three of a kind.

Three of the same suit as denoted by the three fours. The next available hand that beats the three of a kind is called a straight. Any consecutive five cards that are in different suits as denoted by the two of hearts, three of hearts, four of diamonds, five of spades, and the six of spades. All consecutively in a row. This series of five cards beats three of a kind.

The next series, the next main hand is considered a flush. The flush beats any straight, any two pair, any three of a kind, and any non pair. A flush is comprised of five cards of the same suit as denoted by the five, six, nine, ten and ace of clubs.

Notice they don’t have to be in any consecutive order as long as they are the same suit as denoted here by the clovers. The next hand is a full house. The full house beats any straight, any flush, any three of a kind, any two pair, any pair. It is comprised of one single pair as denoted by the two eights and any three cards of the same suit as denoted here by the king of spades, king of diamonds, king of clubs, all to form a full house.

The next hand that beats a full house is four of a kind. A rarity in Texas holdem but once in a while if you are lucky enough you will wake up with four jacks. Jack of diamonds, jack of clubs, jack of hearts, jack of spades and ace of spades.

Four of a kind beats any full house, any straight, any flush, any two pair, and three of a kind, any pair and any single non pair hand. And if you’re really in a lucky mood you might one day get a straight flush, the next second highest ranking hand in the game of poker. This is a straight in disguise six, seven eight nine ten but notice all of the same suit. Here as we see in clubs, six of clubs, seven of clubs, six of diamonds, seven of diamonds, eight of diamonds, nine of diamonds and ten of diamonds. This is considered a straight flush, a straight and a flush.

And finally the highest ranking hand in the game of poker. A royal flush, as you can see here its a straight all of the same suit, here as we see ours shown in the form of hearts. Ten of hearts, jack of hearts, queen of hearts, king of hearts, and ace of hearts.

There is no other hand higher than the royal flush. A royal flush must be with the highest cards in the deck, the ten through ace of any suit.

An English Premier League championship is a competition that decides the winner by testing the peak of endurance of an athlete or sport person. Championship not only decides an athlete’s physical skill, but also is a test of his/her commitment, discipline and mental threshold. In a team sport the outcome of the English premier league competition will be dictated by the performance of all the members of the team and not by the skill and effort of a single athlete. This calls for the team as a unit to possess a championship attitude, where all the team members have a common goal and are willing to sacrifice their personal goals for the team’s victory.

English premier league point spread

English Premier League point spread bets are the most common type of sports bets. Point spread betting is common in English premier league football, basketball, baseball, hockey and many sport games. Sports books use EPL pointspreads to level the betting scenario that exists between two teams in a match. By selecting the right type of point spread, sports books can even the chance of one particular team winning or loosing a match. Pointspreads are created in the following manner – if a particular team stands a lesser chance of winning a match then sports books assign some points to them, these points will then be reduced from the other team in order to even the chances offered to both teams.

The teams in an English premier league point spread bet will be indicated with either a plus (+) or a minus (-). Plus is used to indicate the underdog team and the prescribed points are generally added on to the team. Minus is used to indicate the favored team, the associated points are generally reduced from the team’s score. A pointspread wager that results in a tie is void and the bet money is refunded.

Sports books create point spreads through Las Vegas in-house odds makers or through outside handicapping specialists who offer services for a reasonable fee. Point spread wagers are continuously adjusted based on the nature of wagers that the sports book receives. New information and developments like player injuries, weather and the like influence the pointspread value to a great extent.

Before placing a pointspread bet, comparison-shop among different sport books. Point spread wagers depend on the sports book that you select. Try and anticipate how the point spread lines will change in the course of a match. Sometimes it is better to place your bets at the initial stages of the match, while in other cases it is worth the while to wait for the lines to move in your favor towards the end of the match.

Soccer Betting Tips

Finding value when betting on soccer is the art of strictly mathematical betting. When you bet on value, you don’t pay attention to criteria like league table, form, history, injuries, etc. The “normal” way of betting on soccer is first finding an object you believe in, then check if the odds are all right. Value betting requires another way of thinking. In fact, value betting is the opposite of conventional betting. It’s not about picking objects, but picking odds! This means that you don’t necessarily have to believe in the team you put your money on. As long as the odds presented are better than the strictly mathematical chance your team has of winning the game, that makes it one of the betting on soccer value bets.

Finding the value when betting on soccer

Is an object with value typically an object with odds more than 3.5 or so? No, an object can be a value when betting on soccer with odds of just 1.30, or 1.20. It all depends on what you think is the objec’ts chance of winning the game. If you think a team has got 50 % chance of winning the game, the betting on soccer odds above 2.0 represents value. If you think the team has only got a 40% chance, it’s no longer one of the betting on soccer value bets (with odds = 2.0). Objects with good value are objects which will give you a positive payoff over time. So if Sheff. Wed has got 10.0 for a win at Old Trafford, it is a betting on soccer value bets if you think Wednesday will win more than 1 out of 10 similar games. The formula for finding an object’s value is when betting on soccer:

ODDS * Percentage >= 1.0

The percentage is your subjective opinion on the object’s chance of winning the event.

If the result of the above calculation is a number greater than 1.0 the bet is a value bet. If it’s below 1.0 it’s not a value bet, but it can, of course, still be a good bet.

Useful info about betting on soccer value

Big favorites are rarely good objects for betting on soccer value, due to the bookies’ fear for large payouts if the favorites should win. Big names like Man Utd, Juventus, Inter, Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, are rarely given good prices by the bookies, because the bookies know that the common punter bets on the big names (as they often seem to win their games, and they have a huge following).

As a result of the above, real betting on soccer value is often found in the form of underdogs. The bookies know that punters are more likely to bet on favorites, therefore, prices are generally higher on underdogs.

Patience is the key to success when betting on soccer. Do not alter your strategy if you lose several times in a row. The point is that when you win when betting on soccer, your net winnings will outweigh your total losses.

Value betting could be a good strategy in the beginning and the end of a season. Results are often more unpredictable in the first and last quarter of the season, and punters should perhaps make use of this “fact” by adopting to the value betting on soccer strategy during early autumn and late spring.

Stake determination with betting on soccer

Once you’ve found a few good value soccer bets, you need to determine how much of your funds you should bet on each of these soccer bets. There are several criteria that can help you to determine your stake, and to help you place your bets in a certain betting on soccer system.
